Privacy Policy — 3DGEN (3dgenapp.com)

Last updated: 29 August 2026

Who we are

3DGEN is a set of free, browser-based 3D model generators available at 3dgenapp.com. This site is operated by Serhii Sholomii ("3DGEN", "we", "us"). If you have any question about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@3dgenapp.com.

The short version

Your 3D models are processed entirely in your browser and never leave your device. We keep no library of your files. Accounts are optional; if you create one, the only personal detail we store is your email address. We show no ads and never sell your data.

Your files never leave your device

Every generator runs locally in your web browser. When you upload an STL, font, or logo and adjust parameters, all the processing happens on your own computer. Your uploaded files and generated models are never uploaded to, stored on, seen by, shared by, or sold by any server of ours, and are never used to train anything. We keep no library of your files. When you download an STL or 3MF, it is created in your browser and saved directly to your device. This does not change when you sign in — having an account never causes your models to be sent anywhere.

What data we collect

We collect as little as possible. Specifically:

We do not collect your 3D files, and we do not collect any special-category personal data.

Why we process it (legal basis)

For visitors in regions with data-protection laws such as the GDPR, our legal bases are:

Accounts and sign-in (optional)

You can use every generator for free without an account. Signing in is optional and simply unlocks extras such as a higher download allowance and early access to new tools. The services that make sign-in work are listed under "Who we share data with" below.

Analytics

We use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to see which pages and generators are used and how many people visit. GoatCounter:

Error monitoring

We use Sentry to receive automatic reports when something breaks in your browser (for example, a generator crash), so we can find and fix it. We configure Sentry to minimise personal data (we do not send personal information to it deliberately). These reports are technical diagnostics — such as an error message, the page, and browser/device type — and are used only to improve reliability, not to profile you.

Local storage on your device

Some small preferences are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device — for example, which "in-development" generators you've voted for, a local count of your free downloads, and, if you sign in, a session so you stay logged in. This stays on your device and is not a profile we build about you.

The "Suggest a generator" form

If you submit an idea, you may optionally include your name and email with your message. This is handled by Netlify Forms and used only to consider your suggestion and, if you left an email, to reply. We don't add you to any mailing list; leaving name and email blank is fine. Submissions are kept in our Netlify dashboard until handled — ask us and we'll delete yours.

Founder waitlist

If you join the Founder early-access waitlist, we store the email address you enter — via Supabase — so we can let you know if and when Founder access opens. It's used for that and nothing else; there's no payment and no obligation. Ask us at hello@3dgenapp.com and we'll remove it anytime.

Payments (Pro & Founder)

If you buy Pro or Founder, your payment is processed by Paddle, which acts as our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment and the billing details it needs (such as your email, billing country, and card information) under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full card details. We do receive limited order information from Paddle — for example your email, the plan you bought, and a billing reference — which we use to activate your access and support your account.

Who we share data with (service providers)

We don't sell your data. We use a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf:

Each provider handles data under its own privacy terms.

International data transfers

Some of these providers may store or process data on servers outside your country (for example, in the United States). Where that happens, we rely on the provider's own safeguards and legal transfer mechanisms. If you would rather not have your email stored at all, simply use the site without an account.

How long we keep data

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because we store so little, this is usually straightforward: to see, correct, or delete the email tied to your account, email us at hello@3dgenapp.com and we'll handle it. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

The site is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The current version, with the date it was last updated, will always be posted on this page. Significant changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
